J. Taylor is the founder of Cinematic Inspirations, a blog created to celebrate independent cinema.

He’s worked in acquisitions on films including Yorgos Lanthimos’ Oscar nominated The Lobster, Nanni Moretti’s Mia Madre, Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire, sleeper hit Meet The Patels (Fox Searchlight acquired remake rights), auteur Gaspar Noé’s Love, Oscar winning director Barry Levinson’s The Humbling, and Welcome To Me starring Kristen Wiig. He’s currently a programmer for the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival, where he programs films that focus on cultural diversity, and political and social issues, as well as promotes female filmmakers.

He’s attended film festivals and markets including Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, AFM, Los Angeles, and Hot Docs. He’s also worked in marketing for a worldwide film sales agency, talent management, as a Story Editor, and on the award-winning documentary Darkon (Plan B/Paramount Pictures bought remake rights) and Awake, produced by The Weinstein Company.
